I love Mabel for its bulletproof coffee (wish more cafes offered this), smoothies and generous hang-out area. I also appreciate how they don't play music, allowing you to listen to your own or just enjoy the quiet, organic sounds of a cafe at work. I like the vibe of the place; it is honest, unpretentious, and cool in its own right. This is my go-to spot for a weekend treat when I want to do more than just make a serviceable coffee at home.

Mabel is a coffee shop that from the front appears to be really small. But the look are deceiving indeed. When you walk to the front door you’re greeted by the barista. They have tea, lattes, pastries and to go items for lunch of breakfast. Like your regular coffee shop they also sell “day old” pastries. I grabbed a slice of pecan bread and it was delicious for 1.75. I also grabbed a hot oat milk latte with lavender syrup (my go to). After ordering from the bar there’s an entrance to a back room. That back room contains board games, puzzles, books, and many many chairs and tables. They have really good WiFi and the ambience here was just delightful. As I sat here drinking and eating I felt relaxed and at ease. The music they play in the background comes from their record player which you’re not allowed to touch but they have a large selection to see. Overall I’ll come back to this place to work on a project that requires my focus, or to finish reading my favorite book. I may even bring a board game and just relax with friends.

Proper indie coffee atmosphere with great coffee, comfy seating, with seating and big tables.

this is my very favorite spot to get a perfectly made coffee and a cookie before my morning walk to the park. love the staff. love the coffee. the cookies are always delicious....cool art is on shelves in the back room and dont forget to try the seasonal drinks as well. had a cherry mocha yesterday and it was like heaven. always love sitting outside with my partner and look at the people and dogs and crows in the area. ....really is becoming one of my happy places . ..plus the the baristas are all so cool and actually remember the things i like ....

Great neighborhood coffee spot, treats for furry friends and honor system coffee available so you can skip the line

The baristas at Mabel are so creative and make seasonal drinks with syrups cooked from scratch - amazing!

Happened upon this place in Ballard and surprised to find it served Bulletproof coffee (great for a quick brain recharge!) Added bonus was how nice the staff was and the chill hangout spot in back. Will definitely be back!

I got a London fog today and it was perfect. My friend and I met up here to chat and work on projects together and the atmosphere was really nice: not too loud, fairly spacious, a little busy but that was expected for the time of day. A great place to come to do some head down work.
